Maudie was born and raised in Lumber City, Georgia. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she met and married Charlie, her husband of 40 years. Maudie retired from Bell South and moved to Saint Augustine to be closer to the beach. In Saint Augustine she volunteered at Flagler Hospital and Ushered at the Limelight Theatre.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles W Snead Sr., sister Rozzie McLanahan, and brother Harry Neal. She is survived by her daughter Robin Bennett and husband Joe of St. Augustine, FL, son Charles W Snead Jr. and his wife Christine of Gainesville, GA, and grandsons Neal Merritt and wife Katrina of White Plains, NY, and Joshua and Jonah Snead of Gainesville, GA. She is also survived by a sister in Jacksonville and 3 brothers in Georgia.
Maudie Snead's family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Sunday March 1, 2020 at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Her Celebration Of Life will begin after her visitation at 1pm, with burial to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
