Michael Edward Parker

Mike was born on November 17, 1956, in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Edward Parker and Juanita Holden (nee Woodham).

Mike proudly served over twenty years in the United States Navy from 1974 until retiring in 1994 achieving the rating of Ocean System Technician Maintainer Surface Warfare. After serving his country he went to Avit and provided IT support for many years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, reading, Nascar, photography and Boating. Mike especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Cathy (nee McNeal) of 49 years which they both celebrated that anniversary on February 21, 2025.

Mike is survived by a sister, Kathy Seay, three brothers, Roger Kirkland (Joanne), Kenny Kirkland and Billy Holden (Faye) as well as his children, Angel (Wayne), Michael Jr. (Michele) and Bruce. He is survived by 6 grandchildren, Sara, Lauren, Aidan, Tyler, Levi and Jacob. Mike just received a wonderful gift of welcoming his first great-granddaughter, Elaine Parrish who was born on June 2, 2025, and got to have the joy of getting to hold her.

A memorial service will be held on August 9, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery at 850 St. Johns Bluff Road N., Jacksonville, Florida 32225.

Interment is immediately following.
