

Mildred R. Kelly, age 90, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012. Mildred was born November 30, 1921 in Live Oak, FL to Lonnie and Lura Johnson. She grew up in Live Oak and graduated from Suwannee High School. During World War II, she worked for the railroad in Live Oak. In 1948, Mildred and her family moved to Jacksonville. She was a bookkeeper for a wholesale food company and later McDuff Appliances. When McDuff went out of business, she retired to become a housewife. She was a member of Murray Hill Methodist Church for over 50 years. Mildred was also a member of the Eastern Star, chapter 247. She and her husband, who everyone knows as Kelly, loved to travel and camp with their friends in their earlier years. Mildred is survived by her husband Omer E. Kelly of 52 years, daughter Patricia Hinman deCharmont (Hank), Jacksonville, step daughter Mary Kathryn Small, Kalamazoo, Michigan, stepson, Rusell Kelly, Jacksonville, 4 step granddaughters, one step great granddaughter and 3 step great grandsons. She will be missed by her family and friends. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 12:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Internment to follow services at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
