Mildred was born to John and Causie Pear in Malone, Florida on March 4, 1931. Her siblings, Hillian Roe, Maureen Buesing, Nathan Pear, and Jack Pear preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters, Jean Fulford and Sharon Wilson.
On October 2, 1948, Mildred married Roy Oscar Morgan, who preceded her in death after 53 years of marriage. She will be lovingly remembered by their daughters, Gloria Emery (Mitchell), Norma Harrington (Jerry), Brenda Elliott (John), and Faye Raulerson (Bobby). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Cheri Greene (Kevin), Lisa Kesler, John Raulerson, Richard Yarber, Laura Trant, Claude Hurley (Megan), Brandie Hercules (Byron), and Cory Young (Kelley). Mildred’s memory is cherished by her fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was beloved by her many friends, colleagues, and her church family from the Otis Road Church of God.
From 1978-2012, Mildred was a dedicated employee of Shands UF Health/Methodist Hospital. In retirement, Mildred dedicated her time to serving others within her community, singing in her church choir, spending time with family, and sharing gospel music and the word of God with others. She and her late husband loved fishing together and enjoying the outdoors. She was a devoted wife and mother and there are no words to express how much she will be missed.
A memorial service celebrating Mildred’s life will be held at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville Florida 32205, on June 14, 2019. Viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m., with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. The memorial service will be led by Reverend Stephen Thomas. Repast will be held at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
