Myrtis Suber Ellison

Myrtis Suber Ellison, age 96, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Jacksonville, following a brief illness. Born in Jacksonville, Florida; on July 5, 1928. She was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Ellen (Rudd) Suber.

On May 20, 1945, Myrtis married the love of her life, Samuel Marvin Ellison Jr. They shared a beautiful marriage that spanned 75 years until Samuel's passing. Together, they raised five children, creating a family filled with love and joy.

Myrtis is survived by her devoted children: daughters Bonnie Odle and Janet Swank (Kenneth), and sons Bruce Ellison (Bee) and Kelly Ellison (Debbie). Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded, in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, her husband Samuel Ellison Jr., daughter Rebecca Gray, granddaughter Erin, and grandson Joel.

Myrtis's pride and joy was her family, and the love they all shared was her greatest treasure. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, whose lives were enriched by her presence. Her loving spirit and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A visitation for Myrtis will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Riverside Event Pavilion, 1373 Memorial Park Road, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A celebration of her life will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 PM. A committal ceremony will occur on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
