Myrtle Faye Dykes, age 75, of Macclenny, Florida went home to be with the Lord on May22, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Pete Dykes who she shared 45 years of marriage prior to his death in 2000. Myrtle was born in Baxley, Georgia on December 19, 1938 to Thomas and Alma Cynthia (Harrison) Herrington. She enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors tending to flowers, and earlier years sewing dresses for her daughters. She is survived by her daughters Brenda Adkins, Teresa Freeman, Tina Elaine Brandies (Wayne), Penny Simmons, Pam Hartley (Rick); sons Buddy Dykes (Angie) and Paul Dykes (Emily); brother Edward Herrington; sister Bernice Burgess (Charles); fourteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Family will receive friends and family 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at Riverside Memorial Park
