Norman Lee Helms, age 84, passed away on September 1, 2026. Born on August 5, 1942, Norman grew up in Searcy, Arkansas, and later retired from General Motors and State Farm Insurance. He was a devoted father and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Mary Helms, and his son, Scott Helms. He is survived by his brother, Merle Dean Helms; his children, Kevin Helms, Leigh Osteen, and Dustin Helms; his stepson, Jason Sizemore and several grandchildren.
Norman loved drag racing and other sports, including football and baseball. He was incredibly proud of his kids and would share memories of them with anyone who would listen, especially regarding Kevin and Scott's success on the drag strip. He enjoyed working on cars and teaching Dustin how to work on his Chevelle. He also took the time to coach Jason in baseball and teach him how to drive.
A hard worker, Norman did everything he could to provide for his family while teaching them and others about Jesus Christ and the importance of salvation in one's life.
