Olga grew up on a farm in Chipman, Alberta, Canada. She had a large family, with five brothers and three sisters. She had a love of school and as a small girl she excelled in all of her studies. She was raised Catholic and adored her Patron Saint, the little flower, Saint Teresa.
Olga met the love of her life, Corporal Jimmie Lee Champion, an American soldier from Sylvester, Georgia, while he was stationed in Edmonton, Alberta, during World War II. They were happily married for 52 years. They raised five daughters. They had eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Her friends and family were always welcome to a table of plenty. Olga's chicken and dumplings, fried cornbread, and fresh homecooked vegetables were delicious and always followed by fruit cobbler - with blackberry cobbler being her specialty.
Olga was an Avon Lady for over 50 years, with her customers becoming some of her dearest friends. She was also the oldest member of her parish at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She always sat in the front pew. Olga was beloved by all who knew her.
Olga is predeceased by her loving husband Jimmie Lee Champion, and two of her children; Barbara Jean Champion and Patricia Lynn Champion Pulido.
She is survived by her children; Betty Anne Champion Robison of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary Jane Champion Garza (Trini) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Doris Kae Champion Ganzhorn (Rick) of Jacksonville, Florida, her sister; Mildred Eleniak Lemiski (Al) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
