

Born December 6, 1928 in Jacksonville at St. Vincent's Hospital to Omer Frederick Winn and Nellie Hutson Winn, Omer made this area his permanent home, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School and attending Jones Business College. He joined the Marines in 1950 serving 2 years, primarily in the Korean War.
After his return he married and had two children working various jobs before becoming Used Truck Sales Manager at Riverside Chevrolet (Nimnicht ). His next career was with the city of Jacksonville retiring after 32 years as Chief Purchasing Officer. After retirement he continued part time in the workforce selling RV’s and working as a Cruise Agent for the Port Authority.
In 1988 Omer and Alice married and spent the next 34 years working, traveling, and enjoying family and friends.
In his younger days his time was spent racing at the Jacksonville speedway and December 3, 2016 he was inducted into the Jacksonville Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame.
Omer served as a Deacon at Hyde Park Baptist church and later became a member of West Side Baptist where he has attended the last 24 years. He loved being a Greeter and attending his Connection group and other church events.
Omer is survived by his loving wife Alice, his children Miechell Duce, Mike Winn (Cathy), Robin Grace & Randy Rudd, 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren and Brother Charles Winn (Sharon).
Services will be held at Westside Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 30th. Greeting family will begin at 1pm, and services at 2pm.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Westside Baptist Church.
