Omilee Lucille Chavers

Omilee Lucille Chavers, age 92, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023. Omilee was born on July 4, 1931 in Foley, Alabama to John H. Ware and Rachel S. Ware. She was a graduate of Foley High School, class of 1948. On November 6, 1949, Omilee married Ralph Leo Chavers. She worked at Sears and then owned her own daycare, nursery for children. Omilee loved going to church, her family, and animals.

Omilee is preceded in death by her parents, John and Rachel Ware; her husband, Ralph Chavers, Sr.; two sons Ralph Chavers, Jr. and Baby Boy Chavers; one brother, Donald S. Ware. Sr.; two sisters, Blanche Tessmer and Ethel Jackson; and one great-granddaughter, Caelyn Adams. She is survived by her children Donna McCullough (Ray), Gayle Adams (Robert), and Russell Chavers (Sherri); nine grandchildren Ralph, Ray (Angie), Rachel (David), Nick (Casie), Leslie (James), Kelly, Adam (Tracey), Rusty (Brenna), and Annie (Dustin); and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Omilee will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. A committal service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park following the funeral service. David Dixon, Nick Adams, Stephen Atnip, and Ryan Frederick will serve as officiants of the services for Ms. Chavers.
