

Born on November 4, 1938, in Coal City, West Virginia, Sonny was the son of the late Orville Cline and Mavis Farley. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. Sonny served in the U.S. Navy until receiving a medical discharge. Over the course of his working life, he was a talented barber, transported mail for the U.S. Postal Service, and eventually retired as a dispatcher for Roundtree Trucking and Transport.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carol B. Farley; his children, Johnny E. Farley, Donna M. Hawley, James A. “Jimmy” Farley, Merle L. Jenkins Jr., and Matthew H. Jenkins; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sonny will be remembered for his love of hot rods and classic cars, the Florida Gators, the beach, RV camping, a good book—and a bold cigar. His warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A visitation for Orville will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A celebration of life service will occur Thursday, August 7, 2025 at10:00 AM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will immediately follow the funeral service at Riverside Memorial Park.
