She was born on May 23, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida. Pat was the daughter of Robert B Smith and Mary Carmen Vidal, and had two brothers, Roger K Smith and Terry D Smith.
Pat graduated from Englewood High School in 1963. She enjoyed her career as the maitre d for the Florida Yacht Club for 7 years. She had a passion for gardening and building her ancestry.
Pat was happily married to Richard L Byerly who was her partner in life for 27 years at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her brother Terry D Smith; and is survived by her loving husband, Richard L Byerly, brother, Roger K Smith, daughters Sherry and Terri, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, located at 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, on January 21, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on January 21, 2026, at 2:00 pm. A committal service will immediately follow the funeral at Riverside Memorial Park.
