Ann was born on January 16, 1944, in Alma, Georgia, to the late Walter and Ruth Sullivan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A proud graduate of Paxon High School in 1963, Ann married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Etheridge, that same year. Together, they built a beautiful life, and in September 2025, they would have celebrated 62 years of marriage. Ann had two daughters, Cynthia and Darlene. Ann is predeceased by her daughter Cynthia and her sister, Doris Smith who recently passed. Ann’s heart remained forever tender for the loss of her beloved daughter and sister. Ann cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and found joy in her beloved dachshund, "Bo”. She loved to fish, go camping and tend to her flowers, which brought her peace and satisfaction.
Ann’s life was marked by her love for family, travel, and her devotion to the Florida Gators football team. She and Thomas were avid Gators fans, holding season tickets for over 30 years and traveling across the country to cheer on their team. One of the highlights of their travels was attending the 2007 National Championship Game in Phoenix, Arizona, where the Gators beat Ohio State, 41-14.
A dedicated public servant, Ann retired in 2004 after 35 years with the Division of Forestry. She began her career as a fire spotter, manning the fire tower in Jacksonville, Florida. Over time, she transitioned to a dispatch operator before retiring as a Government Administration Professional. After retiring from the Division of Forestry, Ann then took on a new role as a Finance Section Chief, contributing to incident management teams for significant events such as Hurricane Katrina. She was instrumental in training students in the National Incident Management System and providing office administration support to local personnel.
Ann leaves behind her loving husband, Thomas Etheridge; daughter Darlene Westberry; son-in-law Kenneth Westberry II; grandchildren Jessica, Danny, Joe, Katlyn, and Brayden; several great-grandchildren; her brother Walter Sullivan and sister-in-law Shorty Sullivan, and many other cherished family members and friends.
Ann’s legacy of dedication, kindness, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
