Prior to high school, Patsy was a girl scout. She graduated from Paxon High School in 1967, where she was a majorette and played the French Horn in the marching band and orchestra. Patsy was a long-time, active member of Westside Baptist Church since the late 1970s, and a founding member of the orchestra, where she played the French Horn for over 25 years. While at Westide Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school, directed the children’s choir, served on multiple committees, and worked behind the scenes, using her creative talents in many choir and orchestra presentations. She joined Ancient City Baptist Church in St. Augustine, later in life, where she sang in the choir and worked in the sound booth during services.
She worked for the U.S. Post Office, where she retired after twenty years of service. In retirement she felt called to accept a position with Ancient City Baptist Church , where she eventually became the church administrator.
Among her many interests and talents, Patsy was a skilled chef, as many could attest. She particularly enjoyed baking specialty cakes for family and friends but will always be remembered for her delicious pound cake. Never one to sit still, Patsy loved traveling, having twice been overseas and to much of the U.S.
Please join us in celebrating Patsy’s life Saturday morning January 15, 2022, at Ancient City Baptist Church, 27 Sevilla St., St. Augustine. Service will be at 11:00 am followed by a reception.
