Pearl Luella Colby Bowman, born February 15, 1931 in Jackson, Ohio, passed away on February 12, 2020, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a housewife for many years. In her younger days, she rode motorcycles with her husband. After her children left home, she opened and operated “Gates of Pearl” Day Care Center for 25 years. Pearl loved caring for children, loved to paint, loved the outdoors, and loved cats and animals. She loved God and that Jesus was always close to her. She thanks Him for His Love and Care always; He was her comfort in all things.
Pearl is survived by her husband, William Joseph Bowman, married 71 years; one brother and two sisters;
children William Andrew Bowman, Brenda Sue Bowman Charrie (James Charrie), Joseph Aaron Bowman (Dena Bowman), and Lori Beth Bowman Bauer; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations to the Humane Society of Jacksonville (jaxhumane.org) and Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) (COJ.net-Animal Care and Protective Services) would be appreciated.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m.
