Ralph Richard Ford II known dearly to those who loved him as “Rich” or “Richie”, was born on July 3, 1971, in Millington, Tennessee. Raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Rich grew up with a vibrant curiosity, receiving his education through the Duval County School System.
An entrepreneur with a creative spirit and strong work ethic, Rich owned and operated his own painting business, taking pride in partnering with clients to turn their vision into reality. His craftsmanship and dedication extended across his work in construction and logistics, bringing artistry to everything he built.
Beyond his work, Rich was the ultimate host and the heart of every gathering. A true master of the grill and a passionate cook, he poured love into every meal he prepared. Nothing brought him greater joy than gathering family and friends around the table, serving delicious food, and creating moments of laughter and connection.
Rich had great energy and was the ultimate comedian. He loved to laugh, and even more, he loved making others smile. He loved analyzing the plot twists of crime shows like The First 48 and Law & Order, regularly solving the case before the detectives. But no mystery matched his lifelong devotion: he loved the Florida Gators dearly, which mostly meant yelling at the television with absolute, unwavering loyalty no matter the score.
Alongside his humor, Rich had a passionate soul; he loved deep conversations, sharing wise insights, and finding peace by the water through catch-and-release fishing.
Rich’s earthly journey leaves behind a trail of warm memories, belly laughs, and a legacy of love that will live in the hearts of all who knew him.
Rich was reunited in eternal rest with his beloved father, Ralph Richard Ford I.
His spirit lives on through his loving wife Mercy; his beloved children Liliana and Raheem; his cherished mother, Minnie M. Ford; his devoted sisters, Tracy, Sharyn, and Alicia (along with her husband, Corey); as well as a cherished host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will forever miss his laughter, his cooking, and his wonderful spirit.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” -- 2 Timothy 4:7
