Randall Wayne Kerr was born to Arva Lee & Earl T. Kerr on December 16, 1955 in Parma, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl T. & Arva Lee Kerr; Brothers, Loyd Kerr, David Kerr, Jimmy Sadler; and two nieces, Alynn Benner and Candace Kerr.
He is survived by his daughter, Krystal Renae Kerr (Heath); siblings, Judith Benner of Lawtey, Fl., Lyndel Kerr (Beverly) of Lawtey, FL.; aunts: Yvonne Moore, Mary Sue Diamond and Sally Kerr; grandchildren: Dean and Bethany; 8 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews; and a multitude of cousins and friends.
In 1957, at the age of 1, Randy and the Kerr family moved from Missouri to Kissimmee, Florida. As a young child, Randy was athletic turning cartwheels at the drop of a hat. Randy sustained major injuries when he was struck by a car in Kissimmee. Over several months of recovery he eventually rebounded to a normal life. At the age of 14, Randy and the Kerr family moved to Jacksonville in 1972.
Shortly after moving to Jacksonville, Earl & Arva Lee decided to become entrepreneurs and turn their hobby into a business. They formed Kerr's Auction Service; which is the oldest family run auction in Jacksonville. Randy followed in his Daddy’s footsteps and is considered by most to be the greatest auctioneer they’ve ever heard. Randy just had a gift with singing phrases like “Hey set’em in boys” rolling off his tongue with pure harmony. That 50 plus year family legacy continues with Kevin Kerr. With Randy’s larger than life personality and smile; he oozed charisma, nurtured by childhood hero, The American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Randy was never short on singing songs whether sitting around, driving down the road, or Karaoke. With his usual smile in place, his infectious personality touched everyone he came in contact with.
Randy was the guy you wanted on your side for multiple reasons. His warmth is what drew people to him. If you were fortunate enough to be a friend, you were a friend. He was the consummate family member who did his best to stay in touch. If you were family or friend, you never had to worry about being stranded. He was that guy Tracy Lawrence sang about in “Find Out Who Your Friends Are”.
Finally, his love for horses and roping, his love for it all… buying, selling, riding, roping, being in a barn, the arena, driving down the road to and fro and anything close, Randy loved the simple way of life!
There are many trips, events, and memories that will be remembered and missed.
I/we love you Daddy, Brother, Nephew, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend...
