Powers, Rebecca G. (Harris) passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2010. She was born on May 5, 1922 in Joliet, IL to the late Ardell and Mary Andrews. She is preceded in death by her husbands Walter Harris and George Powers and only son Richard E. Harris, brothers, Ardell, JR., Gordon, Charles and Malcom Andrews and sisters, Barbara Granda and Myrtle Lowry. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Lana Harris, two granddaughters, Heather Wagner and Hope Harris, two great-grandsons, Caleb and Brady Wagner all of Jacksonville, FL, brothers, Donald (Janice) Andrews of New Lenox, IL, Jack (Linda) Andrews of Panama City, FL and Perry Andrews of Joliet, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. She spent the first part of her adult life moving around as a military family before moving to Jacksonville in the early 1950’s. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 pm in the chapel of the Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, with Chaplain T.E. McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the services.
