Rebekah Marion Thompson, 56, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born May 10, 1960 to Marion and Kathleen Durden in Jacksonville, FL. Rebekah loved her Popeye’s chicken, hot & spicy complete with Louisiana hot sauce. She also enjoyed her sweet tea and Coke. Rebekah was a member of Wayside Assembly of God and her favorite color was periwinkle. Her favorite flower was the rose and she had a collection of elephant motif in her house. Rebekah is preceded in death by her brothers Gary Michael Durden and Barry Allen Durden. She is survived by her parents, Kathleen and Marion Durden; two sons, Joseph Thompson and Joshua (Maritza) Thompson; brother, Joel W. Durden; grandchildren Marisele, Joshua Stephen Jr.; nieces and nephews Shawn, Daniel, Carolyn, and Christopher; and as well numerous cousins. Rebekah also had many friends that she worked with at Florida Blue that will always be treasured by the family. A visitation for friends will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 5-8pm in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. The funeral will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10am with interment at Riverside Memorial Park.
