Rhunette Bell James was born on September 30, 1938, in Emanuel County, Georgia. She was the youngest daughter of the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Harden Bell and Mr. Rious Bell Sr. Rhunette Bell James passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mrs. James was educated in the Emanuel County school system. Not long after graduating high school, she moved to Vero Beach, FL to live with her eldest sister, Rebecca McCloud, who was one of her best friends. She relocated to Jacksonville, FL to attend clerical school. There, she met and married the late Dan James with whom she had two children. She dedicated over 40 years of service to Memorial Hospital as a clerk where she provided support in the hospital’s Recovery Unit.
Mrs. James was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with all of her “boys”- her grandsons and great-grandsons. She shared with them her love for God and education, ensuring that they attended school daily and church on Sundays. She was their biggest cheerleader, attending their athletic games when she could. Mrs. James faithfully served the Lord as a deaconess and her love for God led many, including her late husband and grandchildren, to give their lives to Christ. She impacted the lives of others in numerous ways, but, above all else, she lived a life devoted to the kingdom of God and she loved Him with her all and all.
She was preceded in death by her late husband of over 60 years, Dan James.
Mrs. James leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Dannette Click of Orange Park, FL and Danny James of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Jessica Sales (Shawn) of Middleburg, Fl, Torry James of Mobile, AL, and Charles James of Jacksonville, Fl; six great-grandchildren, Jaedon Stokes and Michael Guthrie of Middleburg, FL, Torry James, Jr., Jason James, and Ryan James of Orange Park Fl, and Korry James of Mobile, AL; sibling Rev.
