

Richard Lovell Dougher, 81, went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, October 5, 2012. He was born on August 24, 1931 in Braden, Tennessee to Jerome Lovell Dougher and Ruby Pearl Crook Dougher. He was retired from the United States Army where he served his Country with dignity and honor for 23 years. He was a veteran of both the Vietnam and Korean Wars. Those who knew him, knew of his generosity and kindness. He was always there without judgement or questions. Richard is preceded in death by his son, Jerome Lovell Dougher II. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Dorothy; his daughters, Deborah K. NeSmith (Sonny), Cynthia A. Nitz, Rhonda S. Norvelle, (life partner, Diane), Melody L. Payne; and son in law Timothy Lucas; 8 grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, Nicholas , Alison, Blake, Casey, Courtney, and Alexis; 6 great-grandchildren; his sister, Lois Swartz; brother, Paul Dougher; and all of his friends, and extended family. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00am, in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.
