Richard Cornelius Lee (Rick) was born on May 9, 1975 in Petoskey, Michigan to Richard and Catherine Lee. He was passionate about his family, friends, and his work at Graham & Co. Rick loved to travel especially on cruises with his mom, Cathy, and sister, Heather, and other friends. He also loved to shoot with his good friend, Toney Altieri, and others at the Nut Deep Hunt Club. Rick loved to fish with his good friend, Shannon Gavagan, and her son, Fisher Altieri. That little boy was a great source of joy in Rick’s life. Rick also loved to hang out at the house watching movies and losing at darts to his best friend, Carl Crutchfield. Rick’s other best friend in life was his cat, Dallas, whom he asked about every single day when he was fighting his battle against cancer. Rick fought very hard and went out of this life a true warrior on Monday, April 16, 2018.
Rick is predeceased by his mother, Cathy Lee, who lost her battle against heart disease July 27, 2017; and his friends, Derek Norris, Mike Gonzalez and others. Rick is survived by his father, Richard Lee; his sister, Heather Cooley and her husband, Russell; his niece, Brittney Harp; her husband, Craig; and their new baby, Alena Catherine; his dear friend and “sister”, Laurie Beck-Butler; and a great many other family members and friends who he loved dearly. We, the family, want to acknowledge the wonderful caring staff at Community Hospice at the McGraw Center for Caring - Mayo Clinic for caring for Rick in his last days on earth.
In accordance with Rick’s wishes, his body will be cremated and we will hold a celebration of life later at what he once called “the office” at MVP’s Sports Grille tentatively on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Further information will be posted on social media and his sister, Heather, will contact friends and family with address and information.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rick Lee’s name to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
