Richard Dewayne Vann Sr went home to be with his Lord and Savior August 3, 2026, in the care of Baptist Hospice. He was born in Jacksonville, FL to Hinton Vann and Estelle Lucille Jerkins on April 30, 1955. Hinton Vann died on September 10, 1960, then he was later raised by his bonus dad Daniel Reid Jerkins.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Vann, Daughters, Melissa McDonald (Ronnie), Crystal Bennett (Adam), son, Ricky Vann Jr, daughter, Amanda Harvey (Travis), son, Kevin Vann (Caitlin), daughter, Robyn Vann, grandchildren, Kelsie Lawson (Drew), Hailey Davis (Jason), Kanler Vann (Makenna), Emily McDonald, Zack Silcox, Zack Mehl (Destiny), Keaton Silcox, Camden Wiggins, Huntley Vann, Emma Harvey, Brittany Silcox, Hannah Bennett, Madison Williamson (Andrew), great grandchildren, PJ Joyner, Palmer Joyner, Kymber Vann, Holden Davis, Rowynn Lawson, Rylynn Lawson, Langston Vann, and his sister Jeanette Mathews (Calvin).
He is preceded in death by his mother, Estelle Jerkins, Dad, Hinton Vann, bonus dad, Reid Jerkins, brothers, Ronnie Vann (Pat) and David Vann (Shelby).
God blessed him with a large family that he loved and cherished dearly. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding horses, going to the casinos and playing with his chickens (especially Blackie and Hannah the hen).
A visitation for Ricky will be held Friday August 7, 2026, from 10:00am to11:00 am at Westside Baptist church, 7775 Herlong Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32210 with a funeral service at 11:00am. A graveside service will occur immediately following at Riverside Memorial Park cemetery.
