Robert L. Byrd, 77 of Jacksonville passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at home. Robert is preceded by his parents; Allie and John R. Byrd of Patterson, Georgia. Two brothers; Ralston Byrd, and H.V. Byrd; two sisters; Annette Roddenberry and Betty Thornton. He is survived by a brother; Earl Byrd and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was a pioneer in life and travel. In his short time he has strived to accomplish all his goals he set for himself. Robert’s list of careers includes a teacher, landscaping, and interior design. He enjoyed traveling the United States, Mexico, South America, India, Europe and learning of other cultures. Robert enjoyed reading books and writing short stories. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, kind smile, and warm heart. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
