Robert John Leonard, was born March 18, 1926, in Hanover, Pa., and after graduating from school, joined the U.S. Navy, and was stationed at NAS-Jax when he met and married the late Alice Jean Leonard. He was married for 60 years before losing his wife, and had eight daughters and one son together. He is survived by seven of his daughters, Deanna Green, Marie Greene (Mike), Debbie Dowling (Jim), Roxanne Parker (Scott), Denise Leonard, Johnel Martin, Rita Brooks, and son, Allen Leonard; son-in-law Charles Duska (the late Theressa Duska’s widower); his twin sisters, Pauline Campbell, and Eileen Cramer (Dick); 21 grandchildren, 35 greatgrandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Ethel Wilson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews,and many, many friends.
He was a hard-working man, sometimes working three (3) separate jobs to support his family. Everyone who knew him knew he was a fantastic cook, and really loved to cook for you--of course, he also loved to eat great food! He enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning his own veggies, bird-watching, and to chase squirrels away from his bird feeders... He simply loved being around family, and was always there when any of his family or friends needed him. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends, Thursday, June 4, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Town & Country Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, 11 a.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 1773 BlandingBlvd. Interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Cemetery, with a reception including food and drinks following at 1 p.m.at the Town & Country Funeral Home, for friends and family.
