Robert (Bob) C. Simcox, 68, passed away peacefully in Jacksonville Florida on August 26, 2019 after a short battle with cancer surrounded by his family. He was born in Virginia on February 17, 1951. Graduated from Roger’s High School in Newport RI. Received an Associate’s Degree in business with honors from Florida State College then finished out with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Jacksonville University. He Served in the United States Air Force as Staff Sergeant from 1969 to 1973. Bob was recruited by Honda of America which started his legacy with Honda from 1979 to 1996 working his way up to Senior Vice – President. In 1996 he was recruited by Benteler Automotive as President of their Company in Grand Rapids, MI. He was an Active Member of the American Legion Post 316 along with many other organizations. He was preceded in death by Carl and Gloria Simcox (Parents) and Brother in Law Pete Peterson. Survived by his wife Janet (Johnson) Simcox, his three siblings Bill (Peggy) Simcox, Chuck (Penny) Simcox, and Debbie (Simcox) Peterson and many nieces and nephews. His former wife Cora (Taylor) Simcox and their 2 daughters that he loved very much April Simcox and Robin (Simcox) Titus and her husband Doug. He enjoyed and loved his four grandsons Austin, Blake, Mason, and Reed. Bob loved all sports especially his team the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and everyone loved his signature laugh. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Earl B. Funeral Service will be 1 PM Sunday September 1, 2019 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS CHAPEL HILLS FUNERAL HOME, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North Jacksonville, Florida 32225. A Celebration of Life will follow 3 PM at American Legion Post 316, 1127 Atlantic Blvd Atlantic Beach, Florida 32233. Graveside service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday September 3, 2019 at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to service and line up in lane #1.
