

His wish to enlist in the US military was realized in 1958 when he began a life-long career in the US Navy. In 1988, he retired with distinction as a Master Chief Petty Officer after 30 years of naval service.
He continued his federal service as a contracting officer for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Jacksonville. He retired from HUD in 2009 resulting in over 51 combined years of dedicated service to the United States of America.
He was devoted to his Catholic faith and had a strong trust in the Lord. He enjoyed fishing, growing and cultivating fruit trees, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Potenciano and Guadelupe Sitson, and his first wife, Carmen Reyes. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Zenaida Sitson, children, D’Anne Yarbrough (David), Kevin Sitson, Glen Sitson (Jocelyn),and Mary Grace Odvina (Ramil), Grandchildren, Jordyn and Benjamin Sitson and Ryan, Reese, and Rachel Odvina. He is also survived by his brothers Oscar Sitson and Roger Sitson, and sisters Elvira Gonzalez, Amelia Mulingbayan and Terisita Sitson. He will be loved and missed by many including his extended family in the United States and in the Philippines.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM Thursday, March 1st, 2012 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 2, 2012 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church 2400 Mayport Rd, Atlantic Beach, FL followed by a military burial at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
