She worked many years as a meat wrapper at AP&P Grocery Stores with her husband. Following she went into teaching and watching children at our local Church of God of Prophecy Day Care 118th Street. When she wasn’t at work she was playing with her grand kids, cross-stitching, and doing anything with flowers/gardening.
Jeanette (Net) is what she preferred to be called was born to the late Doctor E. Parrish and Susie Parrish (Lloyd), August 27, 1938 in Waycross, Georgia. She was preceded by her three brothers James, George, Monroe Parrish and sister Thelma Maddox (Parrish).
In 1957 she found her true love to the late Robert L. Newton. She is survived by her two sons Dennis Newton (Diana), Port St. Lucie Florida, Kenneth L. Newton (Cheryl), Jacksonville Florida, and daughter Deanna Cowling (Craig) Jacksonville Florida. Three grandchildren Crystal Newton Keen, Kenny Newton and Haley Cowling and one great grandson Hunter Keen. Many nieces, nephew, greats, cousins and all the others that called her Granny Newton. She always loved her family and wanted them around all the time.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, followed by interment at Riverside Memorial Park.
