Sandra was born on September 28, 1940, in Miami, Florida, to Charles and Lucille Dickson. She graduated from Forest Lake Academy in 1958 and continued her education at Southern Missionary College. She was married to her beloved husband, Lester Spriggle, for 40 years — a partnership built on devotion, shared faith, and family.
Sandra spent her life caring for others. She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant before serving as an Activities Director in a nursing home for over 20 years prior to her retirement. Loving people came naturally to her — it wasn’t just her profession, it was who she was.
She cherished her years in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, before eventually returning to Florida to be closer to her daughter and family. She found joy in the simple, beautiful things God created — feeding birds from her porch, especially hummingbirds and her favorite, the cardinal. She lovingly cared for African violets that seemed to bloom as faithfully as she did. For a season, she enjoyed traveling in her motorhome with Lester, making memories with friends and family along the way.
Her faith was the steady foundation of her life. A lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Sandra loved the Lord deeply and trusted Him fully. Through every joy and every hardship, her relationship with God remained her anchor. She lived with the quiet assurance that this world is not our final home, and she held firmly to the promise of seeing her loved ones again.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Adorno (Ben); stepson, Donald Spriggle (Renee); grandchildren, Ashley Arrwood, Cregg Arrwood, Shannon Hubbard, Brady Garrett, Alexis Grissett, Dalton Spriggle, and Stephanie Adorno; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille Dickson; her sister, Carol Dickson; her daughter, Jackie Garrett; and her husband, Lester Spriggle.
Sandra’s legacy is one of faith, kindness, and steadfast love. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she rests in peace, awaiting the beautiful morning when they will be reunited again.
Donations can be made in her name to Community Hospice.
