Born May 22, 1931, in Lake Wales, to William and Frances Stokes, Sarah attended Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville. She married Gene H. Chapman on December 1, 1972.
Sarah was a bookkeeper for various Jacksonville companies, eventually retiring from the family business Fox Engine Service.
A faithful member of Jones Road Baptist Church for 53 years, Sarah was a prayer warrior for the needs of family, friends and Church. She started each day with prayer and Bible Study. Her primary passion was serving the Lord.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Hobbies included playing cards, doing Word Searches, watching TV game shows and all types of Auto Racing.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents William and Frances Stokes, sister Carol E. Stokes and son Charles E. Mullins, Junior.
Surviving family members include her husband, Gene Chapman, daughter Ruth Mullins of Glen St Mary, FL, daughter Cindy Ballantyne (Rob) of Jacksonville; Six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many beloved extended family.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM all held at the Riverside Event Pavilion, 1373 Memorial Park Drive, Jacksonville, FL. Internment will take place at 1:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
