

She was born June 15, 1956 in Taylorville, Illinois. She graduated from Forest High School Class of 75. On June 28, 1975, she married Norman Neal Kirkendoll, Jr. and they enjoyed almost 50 wonderful years together.
Sherry retired after 20 years working for Winn Dixie in the warehouse cafeteria and the bakery. She enjoyed bowling, shopping, going to the beach and camping and going out to eat. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Belles. She enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends through cards for every occasion. She enjoyed picking up Joyce, Cindy and Sharon, her special friends from 1st grade on. She especially enjoyed family events including the annual family reunion in Taylorville, Illinois over Labor Day.
Her daughter and grandchildren were her very special joy. Sherry was a friend to all she met. She would drop everything to help someone in need. Her smile, her sweet personality and her heart of gold will be
remember by all.
She was predeceased by her father Jack Cairel, her brother Mike Cairel, and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband Norman, daughter Christina (Mike) Griffith, mother and stepfather Eileen and Bill Wadding, all of Jacksonville, sister Marsha (Joe) Sutorus of Middleburg, Grandchildren Brooke Kirkendoll, Jacksonville, Atlantis Young and Nathan Kirkendoll, Memphis, TN and Patrick (Shaina) Kirkendoll, Fort Benning Georgia and many extended family and friends.
Burial will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on February 24, Services and a Memorial will be held at 2:00 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1614 Blanding Blvd. Middleburg with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00.
