Shirley Jean Bowen, 79, passed away January 28, 2025, after a brief illness. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, Bill W. Bowen, Brother Edwin Moseley Glaze, Jr. and parents Annie Laura Bishop and Edwin Moseley Glaze, Sr.
Jean graduated from Englewood High School in 1963. She was a Duty Officer for the Division of Forestry for 30 years and retired in 2012.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Laura Simpson, sister Carol Taylor, nephews Jeff Arnow and Brad Arnow, nieces Remick Thomas and Kelly Anderson. If you were Jean Bowen’s friend, you were also her family. She will be missed by so many.
A visitation for Shirley will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, followed immediately by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM.
