Shirley A. Ellison, 71, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 1, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born March 28, 1943 to James and Marzeal Ellison in Jacksonville, FL. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville. She enjoyed time at her lake house with family and her favorite past time was fishing. Shirley enjoyed traveling and was an excellent cook with her specialty being fried chicken. She barbered for over 40 years and worked at Eastport Barber & Styling Shop. Her world evolved around her family and friends. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Marzeal and James Ellison and a brother Morris Ellison. She is survived by 4 sisters, Margaret (Carlos) Chesser, Pearl (Charles) Swenson, Mozena (Hubert) Appling, Debra Fairchild, 4 brothers Shepard (Hilda) Ellison, Kenneth (Debbie) Ellison, Wayne (Gloria) Ellison, Henry (Wanda) Ellison, 5 nieces, 8 nephews, 14 great-nieces and 11 great-nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 6-8pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10am at Riverside Memorial Park.
