Shirley was born February 8, 1937 in Jacksonville, Florida. She worked at CSX Transportation for over 26 years until her retirement in 1992. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church in Downtown Jacksonville for 50 years and especially loved singing in the choir. Nana was a faithful Christian, loving wife, mother, Nana and friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, M.B. Motts, and children Bobby Barnes, Jimmy Barnes, and Jan Lehman. She is survived by her daughter Joy Gonyea, ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will occur Friday August 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, 125 W Ashley St, Jacksonville, Florida, 32202. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. The committal service will occur immediately following the funeral service at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida, 32205.
