Steve Bryant was a long-time employee of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Homes. He began with the company when it was still Giddens-Griffith in the 1970s. His office was upstairs over the rafters at Edgewood and he would smoke unfiltered Camel cigarettes all day (back when you could smoke inside). He held many administrative duties yet his area of expertise was in death certificates and burial-transit permits. He was one of the first sub-registrars in the State of Florida. Through his position he made many contacts and friends with the staffs of physician’s offices as well as with the Medical Examiner’s Office. You could throw him a curve ball and it never seemed to faze him. He was always in a good mood. Steve worked hard and played hard. His favorite pastime was sitting on his porch in Riverside watching the world go by.
A memorial service will be held in Steve's honor on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 2pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
