

Suzette Laugier Barry, 92, passed away peacefully following a brief illness at Kindred Care, Green Cove Springs, FL. She was born August 1, 1928 in Trets, France the only child of Marthe and Clermont Laugier.
Following the end of WWII, she met and married the love of her life, Captain William F. Barry, USA, Ret. (Deceased) on June 27, 1946 in Paris, France. After living in Pawtucket RI, for several years, and with four children in tow, the family relocated to sunny Florida, and then added five more children to the family. Suzette, loved being a wife and devoted mother to her nine children. She is survived by Daughters: Christine Barry, Oviedo; Annette Tilley (Henry), Jacksonville; Nicole Suggs, Jacksonville; Monique Fry (David), Ft. Myers; Marie Boyd (Rob), Jacksonville; Sons: Peter Barry (Michelle); Lawrenceville, GA; Michael Barry, Deceased (Sue), Jacksonville; John Barry, Jacksonville; Patrick Barry, Deceased, (Marilyn), Val Rico FL and 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family, enjoying the big holiday dinners or a toddler’s birthday party. She will be best remembered for her deep faith, her charming French accent, her beautiful dark eyes, her infectious smile, and her love for the songs of Edith Piaf! There is a prayer in her Mother’s Manual of Prayers, written in her hand “Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wanted me now; He set me free.”

Where a visitation will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021, 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 2609 Park St. Jacksonville, FL. 32204.
