April 20, 1940 – September 24, 2026
Sybil Morgan Kato, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 24, 2026, in Orange Park, Florida, at the age of 86.
Sybil was born on April 20, 1940, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Boss and Maggie Morgan. She was a woman of strong Christian faith who loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith was a central part of her life, and she was proud to share the Gospel and encourage others in their walk with God.
Sybil had a deep love for Gospel music and enjoyed singing songs of praise. She especially enjoyed following pastors, worship services, and Christian programs on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Her love for the Lord could be seen in the way she lived her life and in the joy she found in sharing her faith with others.
She also loved her family dearly. Her family was one of the greatest sources of joy in her life. Sybil enjoyed spending time with those she loved, making memories, and, of course, she had a special love for shopping.
Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, Boss and Maggie Morgan; her husband, Shelton Ray Kato; her son-in-law, Scott Chable; her close friend, Ed Quinn; her brothers, Charles Morgan, Harry Morgan and George Morgan; her sisters, Alice Martin and Janet Clemons.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory; her daughter, Teresa Chable; granddaughter, Faith Chable; grandson, Scotty Chable, and his wife, Emily, along with her great-grandchildren, Easton, Owen, and Ellie; her brother, Robert Morgan; her sister, Marilyn Adams; her nephew, Bill Clemons; and her niece, Brenda Woodard; along with extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith that will continue through the generations of her family. A special thank you to Spring Gardens in Orange Park, FL for showing Sybil and her family so much care and love until the Lord called her home.
Though her absence will be deeply felt, her loved ones can take comfort in knowing that she is now at home with the Lord she loved so faithfully.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
