Tangie R. McCray

Tangie Racelle Rhodes McCray was born Oct. 25, 1970 to Arthur and Bonnie Rhodes in McAlester, OK. She was the only child born to this union. She was ushered by God into heaven on Sept 30, 2012. Tangie touched many lives during her short time here on earth with her glowing smile and warm personality. She was preceeded in death by her grandparents Jacob and Nancy Ola Pridgett and Louise Traxler. Tangie graduated from Arch Bishop Blank Catholic School in New Orleans, LA. After high school she attended and received her medical assistant certification from Concorde Career Institute in Jacksonville, FL. She also attended Delgado Community College in New Orleans, LA and St. Johns Community College in Orange Park, FL. She worked for North Florida Dermatology, P.A. for 15 years until her health declined. She was joined in holy matrimony to Johnnie McCray, Jr. on March 12, 2004. To their union they were blessed with 2 children, Julion Ward and Jayla McCray. Tangie confessed her salvation at an early age and later joined Bethel Baptist Institutional church under the leadership of Bishops Rudolph McKissick Senior and Junior. Tangie was known for her free spirit and possessed a heart of gold. She did an excellent job of helping others when in need and never met a stranger. Tangie enjoyed the many pleasures of life: spending time with family and friends, traveling, and shopping, but the one thing she was most proud of and really enjoyed was being the “BEST” mother. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida, 32205. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 11:00am, in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 1:30pm, at Jacksonville National Cemetery of Jacksonville, Florida, Tuesday, October 9, 2012.
