

Tarryn El’Rose Newsom was born on July 27, 1982 in Jacksonville, Florida to Bernice Thompson Newsom and the late Wilbert James Newsom. Tarryn and her older sister Wakeena Newsom (Will Payne) were reared in Anaheim, California before she and her family returned to Jacksonville, Florida after Tarryn’s high school graduation and her father's retirement.
Tarryn was a dedicated employee of Target Corporation, working locally at Target store #967 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida until her passing. Tarryn was an avid motorcycle rider who was a faithful and treasured member of the #1 Stunnas Motorsports Club of Jacksonville, Florida and #1 Stunnas Motorsports Club National.
Tarryn is survived by many family members and friends whom she called family as well, including Genese Herd, Luther Newsom, O’neal Pounsel, Anthony Newsom, Shelia Herd, Chennell Herd, Peter Schmidt, Terri Schmidt, Chase Schmidt, Le’Audre Sublett, Angela Carey, Jasmine Sessoms, Laila Douglass, and all of her many brothers and sisters of the #1 Stunnas Motorsports Club locally and nationally.
Tarryn was well known and loved for her beautiful and infectious smile, her genuinely friendly and positive attitude, and her witty sense of humor that could brighten any day. Tarryn was a tireless friend to many and lived her father’s quote until her last day (Thursday May 18, 2017) “Nothing comes to a sleeping man but a dream.”
A visitation will be on Friday June 2, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd N. Jacksonville, FL 32225.
A Celebration of Tarryn’s Life will be on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00am at the Southside Church of God in Christ, 2179 Emerson St. Jacksonville, FL 32207.
A Repass will be at the church after the interment at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
