Thelma Ruth Andrews, age 85, passed away on February 24, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on December 9, 1931 in Jacksonville, FL to Leonard Williams and Margaret Anderson. She has been a life-long resident of Jacksonville.
Ms. Andrews was a Teacher with the Head Start Program in Jacksonville for 30 years.
She was a member of Midway Tabernacle Baptist A.M.E Church.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Edward Andrews.
She is survived by a Daughter, Carol Andrews of Philadelphia, PA, two sons, Edward Glenn Andrews (Gwen) of Jacksonville, FL and Bruce Leon Andrews of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Candice Andrews, Nicki Jiles, Chauncey Andrews, Morgan Andrews, and Jaysen Andrews(Ashley) and two great-grandchildren, Devon Jiles and Sydney Jiles.
A celebration of Thelma’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM. at the Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32225.
will be in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens at a later date.
