Theodore Kohn, Jr. was reared in the Wesconnett area and attended the local schools of Duval County. Theodore started his career at Skaff Milk Dairy and later went to work for the railroad. After leaving the railroad, Theodore went to work for JTA and was one of the few black men hired as a driver in the 1970’s. After being dedicated to JTA over 25 years, Theodore retired. Theodore Kohn’s hobbies were grilling BBQ, attending funerals (sometimes twice on Saturdays); wearing fashionable suits, attire and shoes; collecting rings for each finger; an avid and incredible conversationalist with everyone, everywhere, all the time.
Theodore Kohn, Jr. passed away peacefully on April 21, 2021 at San Jose Health and Rehabilitation Center. Theodore Kohn, Jr. was preceded in death by his beloved ex-wife Earline Kohn; sisters Bertha Mae Ansley and Mildred Samuels; brothers Daniel Kohn and Reginald Kohn.
Theodore Kohn, Jr. leaves to cherish his precious memories five children: Cheryl Lewis, Patricia Kohn, Purcell Kohn (Angie), Debra Tensley (Willie, Sr.) and Tazz Hardwick (Arecia); Grandchildren: Latae Lindsay, Lamar Lindsay, Kerri Henry, Timothy Henry, Traellis Gregg, Purcell Lavell Kohn, Ashley Kohn, Bridgette McKay, W.H. Tensley III, Devin Flynn, Tazz Hardwick, Jr. and Willow Hardwick; 15 Great-Grandchildren and host of Great-Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
