Tom was born in Perry, Florida to Marcus & Jeanette Moses. He had 2 brothers, Joe & Buddy and 2 sisters, Betty & Estelle (Babydoll).
They moved a few times and settled in Jacksonville where Tom joined the Army reserves at 17 for 4 years and then enlisted in the Army and served as military police for 20 years.
He was stationed in several different states and countries, one of which was Korea where he met and married his wife, Chae Song Yi and they had one daughter, Susan.
He served in Vietnam and received many medals, badges and honors such as: Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal (2 campaigns), Army Commendation Medal, (2) oversea Service Bars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Good Conduct Medal (6th award), Marksman (Rifle M-16), Sharpshooter (Pistol .45 caliber), Meritorious Service Medal, and a few other awards and commendations. He also served as at President Lyndon B Johnson’s funeral.
He was stationed in South Carolina, Texas, Hawaii & Alabama and came back to Jacksonville, Florida where he retired in 1980 but continued to serve the military as a civilian guard at NAS JAX for several years.
Chae Song passed away in 2008. They were married for 44 years.
He lost his only grandson, Ryan Kennedy and future DIL, Bailey McKnight and unborn, great-grandson, Lawson Kye tragically in 2018.
He is survived by is only daughter, Susan Moses Kennedy and son-in-law, Raymond Kennedy Jr., his sister Estelle (Babydoll), and close family friend, Alan Cain & his family.
