Thomas Howard Pauley (Tom), 83, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida, born in Dayton, Ohio on January 22, 1936. Tom was a man of varied interests, he was an avid sports fan – one who enjoyed watching basketball, football, golf, bowling, wrestling and fishing tournaments on television. In Tom's younger years, he excelled in pitching baseball and playing basketball. Being an outdoorsman he enjoyed deer hunting, and took numerous out of state hunting and fishing expeditions. Tom helped on his family farm in the Dayton and Centerville, Ohio area. Spending many hours in the outdoors and keeping up with his lifetime printing career. He was an offset pressman/printer by trade. Tom was mechanically inclined and versed in construction work. Being a very giving man, he coached little league baseball/softball. He was a member of the Masons, in West Carrollton, Ohio, Jaycees in Miamisburg, Ohio. After retiring in 2000, he spent every summer with his wife at their summer home in Morgan County, Ohio, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, hiking among the hills and connecting with nature was his passion and heaven on Earth. Tom was a member of Riverside Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Florida and a member of the Church of Christ in Bishopville, Ohio. Tom will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends. Tom was proceeded in death by his daughter, Deborah Jean Pauley-Perkins, his parents Howard and Leona Pauley, and his brother, Raymond Lee Pauley. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sandra Lee Mcinturf Pauley; daughter, Machele Ann Pauley; brother, JR Pauley; two sisters, Barbara Melzoni and Linda Jestice; one grandson, Wesley Simmons; one granddaughter, Rachel Lee Houston; and four great granddaughters. A cremation will be gracefully performed in Jacksonville, Florida, no service is scheduled at this time. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida for their continuous care and compassion. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.

My wonderful dad how hard it is to not see your presence how lonely it is to not feel you near i couldn't have asked for a more caring understanding loving father of 60+ yrs I'll always be your tomgirl who followed you everywhere i looked up to you when i was so small just as i have as i have grown you truly showed me what family is about married to your high school sweetheart till death to you part i cant begin to say all the ways and things i will miss about you all i know theres not a day that will go by i dont think of you, you are a angle in the sky the brightest star my daddy forever and always. Grandpa...I will always cherish the memories of you when you would take me fishing in your john boat when I was a kid and playing softball in the front yard or telling me how smart I was and just wanting to see me Happy and doing good in were the true definition of what it meant to be a Man,you were always there when I needed you and I cant believe your gone,and Im sorry that we didnt have one last Fishing trip,but God brought you home and now your an lucky God is to have you in heaven,the Stars shine brighter now that your there and I know where to look when I need you...I will miss your Big Blue Eyes and Thick Silver Hair you made the world a better place and I thank you for always believeing in never said Bye bcuz you felt like it was final, so this isnt goodbye its see you later, somewhere over the rainbow.....I love you Grandpa...always your girl,Love always,your grandaughter Rachel...
