

Thomas “Jerry” Russell was born in Jefferson County, Alabama on December 07, 1947. He left this earth on May 20, 2017 in Jacksonville, FL. His father was Claude Bridge Russell and his mother was Lorene Jones Russell.
Jerry was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending days in the boat with his friends. He enjoyed Alabama football and Nascar racing. Jerry earned his living by driving trucks and had many stories of life on the road. He had a quick wit and was not afraid to point out the obvious. Jerry was loved by all that he ever met and he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janice Russell; four sons, Victor Russell, Bryan Russell, Buz (Monica) Russell and James Russell; three daughters, Teresa (Steve) Floyd, Evelyn Pagan (Michael Erickson) and Melissa Ryffel; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frankie (Tommie) Short and Debbie (Hayward) Lynn; he also leaves numerous friends of which are too many to mention that also survive.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in Chapel Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in Chapel Hills Funeral Home with Pastor Don Stelling and Pastor Randy Short officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Chapel Hills Cemetery with Military Honors.
