Thomas Guy Woodard

Thomas Guy Woodard, age 84, died October 8, 2026 following a lengthy illness. He served in the Air Force from 1960-1967 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. In 1999, he retired from IBM after 30+ years as a field engineer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Martha Janice Owens Woodard, his mother and father, Jimmie Thomas and Fronna Ruth Woodard, his sister Betty Ann Woodard, his brothers Robert Jimmie Woodard and Billy Ray Woodard, and his granddaughter, Lauren Andreanne Woodard.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Margaret Elizabeth Woodard; a son, James Owen Woodard (wife, Jaime); 2 daughters, Kathryn Ruth Schmidt (husband, Jim) and Tammy Lynne Vann (husband, David); one stepdaughter, Stephanie Marie Craven (husband, Randy); 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Jean Fair and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas enjoyed woodworking, singing in the choir at Lakeshore, and helping countless people through his volunteer work with P.E.T. Florida.

The family will receive friends for the visitation on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 PM evening at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Lake Shore Family Fellowship, 2246 Blanding Blvd with Pastor Jack Weiand officiating. Interment will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.
