

In 1962, Travis joined the US Army, Infantry Division, to serve his country during a time of need. He proudly served and was honorably discharged in 1965. Post military discharge, he secured a career with the United States Department of Defense and married his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Hickox, in 1966.
Travis held the position of Aviation Mechanic with the Department of Defense, Office of Civil Service. He travelled the world working on the military’s best fighter jets and prided himself in his work and his work ethic. His career took him to Seoul Korea, Naples Italy, Honolulu Hawaii and many other intriguing places he would fondly recollect. After 30 years of dedicated employment, Travis retired from the US Department of Defense. He spent his retirement years tinkering in his garage, bass fishing, watching NASCAR and football games.
Travis was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of The Jacksonville Scottish Rite, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society. He was also involved with the Jacksonville Shriner’s Club.
Travis and Ginger had two daughters together during their marriage, Lisa (Hickox) Piotrowski and Tracey Hickox. At the end of his life, Travis had enjoyed 58+ years of marriage with Ginger along with a beautiful family.
Travis is survived by his wife: Virginia “Ginger” Hickox. Daughters: Lisa (Hickox) Piotrowski and Tracey Hickox. Grandchildren: Peyton Piotrowski, Logan Hickox, Lola Hickox and Kennedy Piotrowski. Great Grandchildren: Charlotte and Nova Sornig. Sister: Nell H. Walker.
Graveside services will be private and arranged by Travis’ immediate family.
