A master of his craft, Vincent was recognized as a top automotive technician in Valdosta, GA, and Jacksonville, FL. He specialized in rebuilding and repairing transmissions for all makes and models and was the "go-to" expert for many local shops when facing their most challenging technical issues. His dedication to his trade was marked by over 13 years of service at Lowndes County Transmission in Valdosta and more than 10 years with Clay County Transmission in Middleburg, FL.
In 2019, Vincent suffered a stroke that prevented him from continuing the work he loved. For the last five and a half years, he was watched over by the compassionate staff at the Orange Park Rehabilitation Center, to whom the family extends their deepest gratitude. Throughout his life and especially during his illness, Vincent was supported by his best friend since his early years, James Graves. James always made time for Vince and was a constant presence, assisting faithfully with his care following his stroke.
Vincent is survived by his father, John J. Placzkowski Sr., and his siblings, Anthony Placzkowski, John Placzkowski Jr., and Angela M. Johnson. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his three daughters, Kyla M. Godfrey, Brandy L. Blackman, and Sara D. Placzkowski, and his six cherished grandchildren: Alexander J. Godfrey, Zoey E. Godfrey, Daniel V. Blackman, Joshua L. Blackman, Elaina M. Layton, and Samuel M. Layton.
