Virginia Diane “Ginger” Johnson, 69, of Jacksonville, FL., went to her Heavenly home on April 25, 2016. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggles and ultimately gave her peace. Virginia was born to the late Leonard C Taylor Jr. and the late Ruby Mae Stratton Taylor on October 26, 1946. She was a devoted member of the Garden City United Methodist Church and the UMW. She loved volunteering her time at the church's food pantry. She was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend Murl Johnson on June 18, 1990. Virginia is survived by her loving husband Murl E. Johnson, a daughter Wanda Pittman (Gerald), a son Donald E. Leonard Jr. (Demetria), a stepdaughter Wendy Johnson Atkins (Richard), 5 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 2 sisters; Sandra Presnell (Charles), Karen Wisenbaker (Ben), 1 brother; Larry M.Taylor Sr (Tara), and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother James Gary Taylor (Bonnie), a sister Linda Sue Leverock (Stanley).
Pastor Alan Patz will officiate her service at the Garden City United Methodist Church located at 3057 Dunn Ave. on April 30th at 11:00.
