Vivian was born on Monday, June 25,1945 in Atlanta, Georgia to Worley Cleveland Alexander and Virginia Dare Alexander. She was a mother, a sister, a grandmother and a friend. Both of Vivian’s parents passed away early in her life making her the matriarch of the Alexander family. In this way she was a mother to more than her own children far before her own children entered the world.
Vivian learned to be dedicated and loyal to her purpose and duties early in life as a member of The Rainbow Girls, a youth service organization. Patriotism, nature, and an emphasis on honesty and dignity were genuinely engrained into her lifestyle. She was truly a woman of virtue. Vivian possessed an immeasurable joy for life that caused her smile to be contagious and her laugh soul touching. All this and destiny inevitably drew Vivian into the arms of her life partner and husband, James Edward Harmon Sr. The two then parented Deborah and James Jr.
Vivian Ann Harmon is survived by her daughter, Deborah and her husband Mark Ratliff; grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Alisia Ratliff and Brittany Ratliff; siblings James and his wife Joyce Alexander,
Dale and her husband Bill Miller, Glen and his wife Lee Alexander, and nieces and nephews Mary Alexander and Tracy Carreker , Vivian Buchanan, Andrew Miller, Ward Miller, Balinda Alexander, Natasha Kim.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205.
