

Walter J. Marcoux, age 93, passed away on February 7, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida at Baptist South Hospital. Walter was born on January 17, 1931 in Hartford, Connecticut to Hector Albert Marcoux and Nellie Marcoux.
Walter will be known for his Service in the Army as Master Sergeant where he earned the Bronze Star Medal, his love for his beautiful wife Barbara Snyder Marcoux, his passion for golf, his giving heart, and love for dancing at their favorite Friday night spot, Tom & Betty’s. Some of their favorite line dancing songs were Boot Scootin Boogie, Electric Slide and Neon Moon. Walter spent his final years at Harbor Chase at Mandarin where he was known for being one of the Best Dressed Residents and one of the luckiest Bingo Winners, well behind Virginia. Walter loved giving small gifts to everyone he met throughout the day at Harbor Chase and always had his doorway decorated to brighten the days of those passing by. His smile and generous heart will be missed.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Hector Albert Marcoux and Nellie Marcoux; his wife Barbara Snyder Marcoux, his brothers Philip Marcoux, Raymond Marcoux and Mark Marcoux. He is survived by his sister Caroline Inguiggato.
Walter had several children and step children along with nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren that will miss his kind heart and tender side that only a few were honored to witness. His smile and generous heart will be missed, but we are at peace as Mother and Walt are now in heaven together.
A visitation for Walter will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
